The Garys' Vineyard is a great example. I gathered up all of the Garys' Vineyard Pinot Noirs I could find. All the wines were great and the unmistakeable soil from the Garys' Vineyard was evident throughout.
Garys' Vineyard is approximately 7 miles from the Pisoni Vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands just south of Gonzalez, California. Many wineries are purchasing fruit from this vineyard and have produced glorius wines.
Garys' Vineyard is in it's seventh leaf, planted from Pisoni vineyard rootstock and is managed and owned by Gary Franscioni and Gary Pisoni who have been friends since High School. So, there are two Garys, thus Garys' Vineyard! Thatsusitzeaation!

The 2000 Garys' Vineyard Pinot Noir
Testarossa 2000 Garys' Vineyard Pinot Noir = 3Attababys! Testarossa Winery 300-A College Avenue Los Gatos, CA 95030 1-408-354-6150 Dark forward nose. Black cherries and soil on the pallette.. Round mouthfeel with a spicy clean finish. I like this better then the 1999!

Loring Wine Company 2000 Garys' Vineyard Pinot Noir = 3Attababys! Big nose of dark black fruit that screamed decant me! Huge extraction, dark black color, black cherries and soil with a round mouthfeel. Finishes with a big smack of new oak. A monster.

Clos Pepe Vineyard and the Santa Rita Hills is another area that will come to the attention of Pinot Noir lovers, especially 2000, 2001 and beyond.
Riedel Magnum decanter and Riedel Vinum Burgundy Crystal stemware. I decanted these wines the first night and prepared a wonderful meal to match these wines.
The next day the wines were a little better. The Garys' was fat and round with wonderful black fruit, soil and less acidity and tannin on the finish the second day. The Clos Pepe was much better the second day! This needs about a year in the cellar. The wonderful flavors of strawberries and cinnamon were much more up front and in balance with everything else the second day! I now understand what all the Fuss is all about on this Clos Pepe Vineyard. The Third day both wines were still alive, but starting to slip away...

Dark nose of black cherries, strawberries and cinnamon. Big dark bold round flavors of strawberries, cinnamon a hint of cranberry, caramel and toasty flavors of vanilla. A great ride from beginning to end! Round mouthfeel and a long balanced finish that echoes smoky rasberries. The best of the 1999 Garys'! I strongly recommend decanting this wine!

Siduri 1999 Garys' Vineyard Pinot Noir = 3Attababys! Nose of smoky black berries and vanilla, floats over my tongue with hints of black cherries, cinnamon and sandalwood with a smack of oak on the long finish. Delicious.

Cinnabar 1999 Garys' Vineyard Pinot Noir = 3Attababys! Wonderful nose of rose petals and strawberries. Lighter mouth feel, but full of smooth flavors of strawberries, rose petals, soil and cinnamon with a long finish. Delicious.

Smoky flavors whisper black cherries on the nose. Black fruit and cinnamon echo between oak and vanilla on the finish. Lighter but still delicious.
